Jewish Photographer Was Sent to Prove the Shroud Was Fake… He Had to Surrender
He was an Orthodox Jewish photographer. He had no reason to believe that Jesus rose from the dead. In 1978 he joined the STURP scientific team with one task: to photograph the Shroud of Turin and help expose it as a medieval painted forgery. His name was Barrie Schwortz.
But something, through his lens, stopped him. No pigment. No paint. An image impossible to paint, present only on the surface of the linen fibers. Human blood of type AB, deposited BEFORE the image. A perfect photographic negative, centuries before photography was invented. And a Carbon-14 dating that, according to later studies, had analyzed a medieval repair instead of the original cloth.
Schwortz did not surrender right away: he stayed a skeptic for 17 years. Then he had to admit what science was placing in front of him. In this video we retrace, piece of evidence by piece of evidence, why a practicing Jew devoted the rest of his life to defending the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin.
